This 12-room guest house and more famous Venice eatery has been a staple for diplomats and celebrities on the Grand Canal circuit since opening in the 1950s. The dining room hasn't changed much since opening, with its grandfatherly decor of walls dotted with heavy oils paintings and abstract artwork around bentwood chairs and cozy 4-tops strewn with homegrown delicacies and antique Italian silver-service worthy of previous guests like Julia Child who raved about the house's legendary monkfish.
